Course Overview
The AvAC RDVT Training of Trainers (ToT) Course is a premier 4-day program engineered to equip seasoned air traffic services instructors with the instructional tools, psychological insights, and operational strategies needed to train the next generation of digital tower controllers.
This course bridges advanced adult learning methodologies with remote visual surveillance concepts, covering Training Needs Analyses (TNAs), unit training plans, simulator scripts, and objective evaluations for RDVT environments.
Participants will learn to apply adult learning principles to digital tower training, conduct training needs analyses specific to remote environments, build structured training plans, design high-fidelity simulator exercises, and evaluate trainee competency objectively.

Rigorous Evaluation Standards
- Theoretical ToT Review: A written exam assessing course architecture design, TNA structures, and ICAO competency frameworks.
- Practical Instructional Mastery: A live simulation assessment where the candidate must conduct an instructional briefing, guide a student through an RDVT simulator emergency loop, and deliver a comprehensive debriefing.
Participants are awarded the AvAC Remote Digital Virtual Tower (RDVT) Training of Trainers Certificate, recognizing global instructional proficiency in state-of-the-art airspace management.
Pre-requisite
- Experienced Aerodrome Control Instructor (OJTI/STI) rating, or relevant experience as an ATC Training Manager, Unit Training Officer, Simulator Script Designer, ANSP Operational Expert, or Civil Aviation Authority Training Inspector/Licensing Evaluator; or
- as determined by Civil Aviation Authority or other states Regulator/ Air Navigation Service Provider.
