Course Overview
The AvAC ATS-ECM Course is an intensive program engineered to build unwavering operational resilience and absolute competency in emergency response and contingency management.
This course bridges strict regulatory frameworks with real-world tactical applications, covering emergency phase identification (INCERFA, ALERFA, DETRESFA), separation during technical blackouts, security threat mitigation, and facility evacuations, grounded heavily in Human Factors.
Participants will learn to classify emergency phases accurately, manage separation and traffic flow during system failures, coordinate swiftly across agencies during a crisis, and execute recovery protocols that return operations safely to normal.

Rigorous Evaluation Standards
Final Written Exam: A written test validating an exhaustive understanding of ICAO emergency definitions, communication failure protocols, and legal coordination requirements.
Participants will be awarded an Air Traffic Services Emergency & Contingency Management Certificate, reflecting a superior standard of operational safety leadership.
Pre-requisite
- A valid Air Traffic Control rating (Tower, Approach, or Area) or equivalent operational role held by an ATS Supervisor, Airspace Designer, Safety/Quality Assurance Manager, or Civil Aviation Authority Regulator; or
- as determined by Civil Aviation Authority or other states Regulator/ Air Navigation Service Provider.
